Robyn Rowland: Clifden Community Arts Meetings October 05, 2016 ‘I can still hardly believe it. He was so much with the living’, I wrote to Brendan Flynn on Seamus Heaney’s funeral day. He was such a good friend to Clifden Community Arts Week. I sat beside him in Clifden library first as if he were a so-very-usual, and not a so-very-unusual, man! We laughed about memory, and talked of Vincent Buckley, a great Australian Irish poet, and his wife Penelope, who were friends of his and Marie’s some year ago.
