Bláthnaid Ní Mhurchú: A painting inspired September 14, 2016 I unfortunately never met Seamus but have been inspired by his work for years (my mam in particular has fed me Irish poetry my whole life). My first real engagement with Seamus' work was when I took his RTE CD box set collection out on loan from the local library. I listened to these poems read so beautifully by Seamus, over and over in the car and played so many poems for my daughter also which she loved. Seamus' poem "Twice shy" resonated really strongly with me and inspired this particular drawing which I entitled after a line in this poem. I was going through the aftermath of a break up at the time and had encountered someone who I believe is one of my soulmates and who helped me through a really tough period. This drawing was the most emotionally engaged piece of work I had ever done and Seamus' work helped me put visuals to that for which I had no words.
